Discover updates centrally

Mr Patchy uses native APT and DNF with isolated target inventories, architectures, source definitions, signing keys and preferences. Repository discovery can use saved inventory while a host is offline; the workbench retains the inventory freshness context.

Review the selection

Start in Packages for one server or find it through Available patches. Search and filter candidates without losing selected versions. The selection count includes hidden rows. Select all eligible updates applies to the filtered view, up to 500 per reviewed batch. Held, broken and queued packages stay outside the review selection. Server-side preflight checks freshness and current candidate eligibility again. Use the dependency preview and inspect the effective reboot and rollback policy before confirming.

Follow execution

Installation refreshes target metadata and requests the approved exact versions. A changed recovery policy requires fresh approval. Activity shows the job result, while the package ledger records observed before-and-after states. Maintainer scripts may restart services.

Priorities and deadlines

  • Critical: 24 hours from first discovery.
  • High: 72 hours.
  • Normal: 168 hours.
  • Low: 720 hours.
